1-5 Gap: 1:30 1-7 Gap: 1:35 Junior Varsity Scoring - 18 teams and 221 runners 1 Jordan 43 1 2 5 14 21 22 23 Average: 18:43.44 2 South View 135 8 17 20 38 52 68 72 Average: 19:40.62 Boys, we had 5 PR's and all the freshmen ran faster this week than they did last week. We also had a lot of 2nd fastest races ever (4), so all in all we are making progress. Keep in mind this particular course has always produced quick times. It is imperative you keep this in mind as we run on tougher more challenging courses in the next few weeks. The work we put in to become better will have to be extraordinary if we are to make significant gains. The gap from 1-5 and 1-7 was better. The smaller the gap from our front guy to our 5th or 7th, the better we will be. We will have opportunities to practice and tighten up the gap, so I'm confident that will improve. The effort put in to achieve this will have to be extraordinary and it must be more than physical; there must be a mental commitment to pack it in and run together. All must buy into it. We've got 5 guys at 18 and you guys can work to move up together. Congratulations to Nicky and Beamer who had the best finishes of a Jordan harrier (male) at the Jungle Run. Their high finishes and fast times are reflective of a really tough 1-2 punch. They can match up with almost everybody's 1-2. Glad to see all the mileage paying off for you. |
