Take care of yourself now

DA will be the site of an important championship meet in just a few weeks. We need to make sure our training intensity and focus is on running faster and being more competitive. Running is like the landscapes of our lives. There are peaks and valleys and plateaus. No matter where you are right now, you must continue to work to get to the apex, to the very top. For each of you it is a different time, a different peak, but ALL of you should be working to improve, get better. It’s your responsibility to make every effort to get stronger, fitter and faster. Your mindset at practice must be full of CAN-DO’s. Bill Clinton once said, “Running helps me stay on an even keel and in an optimistic frame of mind.” I don’t know what running is for you, but it can be the other way around – “An optimistic frame of mind can help your running.” Having a positive mindset is the key to your happiness and your success as a runner.
