Team Stats:

1-5 Gap:  26 seconds (This is phenomenal – AWESOME, boys – a championship gap)
1-7 Gap: 1 minute and 6 seconds (It is a little large)

What a team! You fellas ran a great race. Technically you were on point. Tactically you were exceptional. For the first two miles, ECH was winning the meet. You stayed the course and stuck to the plan and showed great poise and control. The final mile you preyed on guys and raced hard. The strength you showed as a unit in the final mile was a result of thousands of miles run. There is no mistaking your superiority in the final mile was a direct result of your dedication and commitment to training over the past couple of years. You trained like champions and that’s why you were crowned champions (again). Congratulations to Aaron Taylor, Austen Rios, Alex Catotti, Darrin LaForge, Sam Peters, Jimmy Wyngaarden and Nicky Kreiling for leading the way. I’m proud of you guys.

I am very pleased with the junior varsity athletes and how you guys performed. We put 5 in the top 10. I am encouraged by the progress you guys have made and look forward to your continued development. We are graduating some pretty darn good runners which means it’s up to you (in two weeks) to grab the torch and continue to train like champions. I encourage you to raise the bar just as they did because the next step is competing at the Regional level. In order to do this, our training must be at a higher level.

WarningECH returns ALL of their runners. They have no seniors. We will lose 4 of our top 7. We have more than 365 opportunities to get better – don’t waste-a-one!
